As a proud lifelong Alaskan, Whitney understands issues particular to our state and the difficulties many hardworking Alaskans face in accessing justice. In March, 2010, Whitney joined the Power and Brown legal team and was promoted to partner attorney shortly after in July, 2013. Whitney’s partnership with Power and Brown provides her the forum to steadfastly represent individuals handling a variety of legal claims including wrongful deaths, aviation accidents, serious personal injury, and criminal charges in venues throughout the state, all with great success. She has successfully tried cases in Nome, Kotzebue, Bethel, Dillingham, Naknek, Anchorage, Juneau, Sitka and Ketchikan and makes her services accessible to all Alaskans.
Before joining Power and Brown, Whitney attended the University of Idaho and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in both Economics and Political Science, earning an honors distinction and working as a Martin Scholar. After completing her undergraduate degrees, Whitney attended the University of Idaho College of Law and obtained her law degree, graduating early in December, 2009. In 2009 she also earned her certification from the Northwest Institute of Dispute Resolution.
Whitney is licensed to practice law in Alaska, Washington and Oregon and is admitted to the United States District Court of Alaska. She is the recipient of the 2016 National Academy of Personal Injury Attorney’s Top 10 Under 40 Award and the 2016 National Trial Lawyers’ Top 40 Under 40 Award. She is a member of the American Association for Justice, the Alaska Association for Justice, the Anchorage Bar Association, the Bethel Bar Association, and the Anchorage Association of Women Lawyers.
Whitney is also a licensed pilot. She is the daughter of a pilot, the granddaughter of a pilot, and the sister of a licensed commercial pilot and flight instructor. She is a member of the Alaska Airmen’s Association and the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association.
